HAMPTON
Laura J. Minns, 54, was headed west on Mercury in a Toyota Camry and was approaching
Cunningham about 1:30 p.m.October 16, according to a news release. As she approached,
a Ford Mustang that was trying to turn left ran a red light.  The Mustang hit the Camry,
pushing it into oncoming traffic where it hit two other vehicles, police wrote in the release.

Laura Jane suffered serious head injuries and was taken to a hospital, according to police.
The driver of the Mustang and a passenger also were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.  The people in
the other two vehicles were not injured, according to police. Laura died Tuesday 10/23 from her injuries.

Follow-up:
According to Allison Good, spokeswoman for HPD, detectives will confer with the commonwealth's attorney
to determine what charges, if any, will be brought against the driver who struck Laura's car.

171 Semple Farm Road, Hampton, with Rev. Walter R. Dean officiating.
